For all those who are upset with the House hearing, please take it easy. Please do not expect the hearing to discuss the details of each and every GC applicant's case. The objective of the hearing was to bring the folks involved in visa bulletins and GC processing, and make them all publically say and agree that Lofgren-Sensenbrenner bill will not flood the country with new people on the borders but at the same time since the federal agencies did not do their job properly, so it would make sense to recapture the visa numbers, and that's it.
I think that this objective was achieved pretty handsomely without much opposition. So everybody was on the same page, other than Ranking member King, whose job in such meetings is to oppose whatever the committee chair is proposing. Rep. King did not have much to say as Rep. Sensenbrenner has co-sponsored the bill. Noticeably, Rep. Gutierrez supported the bill, which means Hispanic Caucus may not oppose it either, hopefully. So it was all good.

It is very easy to contradict or find errors.
No body is getting paid here to have a tester test it. Yes I like the idea of donor for paid members. There are 31000 members not even 2500 members are contributing. This is one way of making them pay for the services or the info you get from the forum.
I support you reddymjm. It is easy to criticize. Every one should understand this. I was supporting paid forums from the begining. Nothing comes FREE in this world.
Many of my known people who are paid as much as me or even more do not even think of contributing any amount. But they keep questioning when do we get green cards.
We were habituated to criticize others as we were grown to spoon feed by our parents.
I support IV on this.

There is something fishy. Its not possible that he could apply for 485 with the PD of September 2006 in June 2007 . Only people with priority date with June 2003 and earlier could apply. I know this because our PD is July 2003 and we applied only in July 2007. Please people stop this.
Since your PD is June 2003, you could have applied in June 2007 because in June Visa bulletin(released in May ) it moved till April 2004.

If "you" meant me then FYI, I have contributed before and will be contributing again. I am no sencond thoughts on what IV core memebers are trying to achive and why they need money. I completely understand the need.
What am I saying is IV has done everything for Lame Duck session to try and get the bill passed. More money then would not have helped is what I think. Yes we could do better from the lessons we learnt from that day. We definetly need money for all this purpose. Most of the members here understand that and want to contribute too but you cannot expect everyone to be in a position to contribute due to various factors.
But you should not say that you are spending a lot of money on lawyers but members pay lawyers as there is no alternative. You would not be a part of IV if your GC is not filed and affected by retrogression. To get to being retrogressed you should pay the lawyers as without labor and i-140 you are not there yet.
Senator sessions was the key due to the lame duck session rules but going forward as i understand a majority can pass the bill..not ever one need to vote for the bill.
Money would help core do activities like setting up the web site, faxes, going to DC, educating law makers...nothing comes free in this world.
I am sure core team would like to post the account details on this web site and be done with it. And may be list down the number of hours and money they have spent from their personal accounts too. But there are some issues with that. We can always call them up for details if that is what is holding you from contributing. Its only a phone call away.

As EB1 is Cureent, presume processing applications up date, EB3 is Unavailable, means no work to do for USCIS people as far as EB3 Adjudicate cases, leave EB4, EB5 categories aside which dont have many applications to process. Then the only category left for working with is EB2 and that also having ROW being current, the adjuticate applications left for processing with available visa numbers are EB2 India for time being. So this means for the next few months including this June 2008 there might be many approvals in
EB2 India category, as because theres no considerable work in EB category for USCIS people except EB2 India Adjudication. So presumably all the available visa numbers will be processed effectively in the EB2 category for the fical year.

Looks like USCIS did all the easy work in June and now they are getting to grip with the reality (that they cannot process even 140K GC in a year!!!). How shameful. May be all the USCIS folks worked so hard during the last few weeks in June that they would have taken a long break from work after June:D:D

Hate to be repetitive, so just read my prev response.

Here is my point. I spend several hours 3-4 hours at least every day looking through the forum posts hoping to find ways i can contribute to efforts. There are several ideas that are generated in the forum. But cannot find out who is leading it. All i am saying is if we can have a listing of initiatives with some names associated. So i can contribute to the ones that i can support.
I am not sure if i am asking for too much here. I am not a IT guy. I do not know what it takes to post it in the front page.

I missed the july fiasco by 15 days. Atleast if we get the administrative fix to apply atleast 485. That would help us a lot, after labor if we are allowed to apply for 485 within a specific timeframe it would be nice.

They may not consider EAD, but if you submit a copy of I-140 they will consider that.
I also had to go thru a cycle of process, but finally they approved on on submitting a copy of I-140 Approval letter
