My application was sent on June, 14th and delivered on June 15th (I have the FedEx tracking info and signature page confirming 6/15).
The case status online based on receipt number (obtained by calling them a few times until I got lucky) says:
"On July 11, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case."
Not sure if the online status is referring to the receipt date or the notice date when it says "On July 11, 2007, we received" when, in fact, they received it on June 15th!!

You will be able to see your actual RD in the reciept notice...Donot worry..

Common people. We desperately need atleast THIS campaign to be a success. I mean as a team the IV core CANNOT ask for an amount lesser than $5.00.
We are a member base of 30,000 members, cant we all contribute this once? It is exactly FIVE dollars that we ask of ALL members.
If we cannot get every single silent/dormant member to contribute atleast this once, then maybe we should just pack up our bags and fold, coz if we cant even contribute FIVE DOLLARS for our own betterment, we are in a very sorry state.

As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I agree with ItIsNotFunny. The very least the IV core team can do is post updates on what they are up to. That way if someone believes in a particular initiative that IV is undertaking wants to help, they can contact the concerned IV core team member and offer to help.
I am sure instead of the core team trying to burden themselves with all the work, if they let individuals who believe in particular cause to help them, then life would be a lot easier for everyone. I guess that would also get more people involved with IV.
I know I am out of the rat race, so if you think I am being patronizing, my apologies.

EB-3 I wake up and send the letter out..we need to make relevant authorities aware of our situation. Uncertanity and doom stares us come on EB-3 I lets see some action!

How it be a decade, when your PD is 2001 or later? Even for EB-2, the wait time is 4-5 years.
Your letter should be based on facts and not on emotions (that, usually, tends to cloud the good judgment)

thats true, but when does the target timeframe clock start? when they receive the app or when the priority date becomes current?
I just now talked to an IO and she said that last Friday the processing dates for NSC are all wrong and its a mistake. Those will be corrected soon in couple of days.

On the other hand , if this not fixed then even if there are 200K extra visas, the sufferings will persist.

Numerous students on F1 visa applied 485 and got their GC these years.
One's I-485 can be filed only for visas with dual intent status. For instance, an F visa or a B2 visa person (currently not dual intent visas) cannot apply for I-485. This was the basis on which I made that statement. Everyone is free to interpret differently. Again, I am not an attorney and I might be wrong.

5. They charge for many account services
6. Bottom lineI never take another loan with ICICI

Preparing for future is one thing but if you think that this is a valuable thread then go with it and enjoy, i just find it disheartening that people are trying to undermine whatever has been achieved by such threads (Like i said, he might be completely right but is there a need to tell it this way) and what are you going to prepare for the future ;) Do you know it ? (If you do, please keep it to yourself and enjoy or cry about it). Right now, i want to be positive and enjoy the fruits of what IV has done to get some relief, why use negative logic to undermine it and that is what i am saying. The per country limit was not adhered to even in the 3rd quarter. Remember how EB2 India rose like a phoenix from Unavailable to April 2004? Once they determine that there are enough visas for spillover, the per country limits don't exist. The question is how they decide to distribute it among the retrogressed countries.

I was reading an article handed over by my Lawyer sometime back - the whole GC process was designed to be completed in 6 mos. end-to-end.
This goes to show how outdated the process is, plus the resource crunch they may be facing at USCIS.
All in all - it's a black hole...only your 'karma' can get you out of it:)
