My wife is still waiting for the AP. The receipt notice gives August 6 as the receipt date. She called USCIS last Tuesday and was told that USCIS is running really slow and is taking 180 days to process APs. The lady she spoke to asked my wife to call back after "it is 180 days past her notice date". Her 180 days will complete on February 6. We have postponed out travel plans several times.

The available information shows only three days of extended stay and one week of car which they need to share with other executives. Fortunately the extended stay suites come with attached rest room. Otherwise they need to share with other multinational executives. There would be long queue in front of the shared room and eventual back log...

Yeah, I was so envious about that designation, that I have to leave it risking by giving 2 months of advance notice(policy of the company to give 2 months notice) and finding an employer who could file my H1 and suffering 1 yr of constant followups with the company to get my pay and PF and so on. And forgot to mention, that if 2 months notice is not given we are asked to sign an agreement to pay back close to 10 grand.
Is this how a multinational executive gets treated who are fortunately qualified for the EB1 category and company projects you as most valuable employee for business development who would be sponsoring you EB1.
If the company really feels the need , they may as well recruit someone locally who might be much more qualified without going through all of those hassles. All this is done as part and parcel of exploiting the system and its employees.
Luckily we have a choice whether to stay or not and move on to a different status like H1.

There are no US embassies on US soil..I think you meant USCIS local office and are alluding to "interim" EADs. USCIS discontinued that practice last year.
I thought if we dont get the EAD after 90 days, we can walk into the US Embassy in the city nearer to us and get the EAD on the spot(more like a driver's license).:eek:

Dear members,
As we enter the final week of our rally preparation we would like to thank our members that have indicated that they would be coming for the rally. We also want to thank all state chapter and action item leaders for helping us out in this massive effort. This planning, coordination and implementation cannot happen without the help of each and every member. Help has ranged from phone call campaigns, publicity campaigns, media campaigns, lawmaker meetings, banner preparations, Merchandise set up, state chapter activities, Bus initiatives, Transportation and accommodation initiatives, sponsorships, reaching out to law offices and like minded organizations etc to tasks as important as deciding the Dinner menu for the Sept 17 event.
We still have a long way to go in our planning and implementation. IV membership is working hard to make this rally a success. The Sept 17th lobby day work is being implemented at this time and lawmaker office appointments are being sought. Everyone that has indicated their presence for this event will be contacted this week. We are planning a big reception event on September 17, from 6PM to 9PM at the Cannon Building in DC. IV members, lawmakers, staffers, industry leaders and other like minded organizations are expected to attend this event. It will be a great opportunity for IV members to meet these important representatives. There is also going to be a big Press event on Sept 18th that we are planning. There are several initiatives being taken to have a big media push for the rally. The rally is in itself a huge task that requires planning from getting all police permits (which we already have) to transporting rally material, providing registration opportunity for members, getting lawmakers to address the rally to details like stage and sound system.
All this has required IV to invest heavily. We already invest almost all in our lobbying efforts and remaining little in Website maintenance till now and somehow manage to run this organization on shoestring budgets. We need about 30 thousand dollars in the next 8 days to make sure we can meet our needs and also make a big impact via this rally. This rally will most certainly bring our issues to the national center stage and help us get much needed immigration relief.
This post urges everyone to come forward and help us in this short term funding drive. If you have not contributed till now, please consider contributing. If you have got your Receipt notice/FP notice/EAD etc. then do show your admiration for our combined effort via lobbying, San Jose rally and Flower campaign that enabled everyone to file their I485s. There are many members who think IV and other members are fighting for re-reversal of VB or increase in visa number for 2007....
why dont they understand that we are fighting to avoid rejection, we are not asking them to re-revise bulletin, all we want is just accept the application without rejecting them, so that we can save ourselves from loosing money and time. dont make fun of IV and other members who's putting their efforts in it, no matter what the result is. if you dont want to participate please stop visiting this forum.

At least I won't give u red dots if you can enlighten us how to get us out of this mess. And yes, we do want our green card so I don't think we can stop the process or stop spending money on that. Also please advise us how to bring all 70K people under one umbrella?
I dont mind getting Red Dots, But please, for god's sake. Stop doing this fruitless campaign. Do you guys think Giving a Clock or sending flowers solved earlier problems. Enough of this Gandhiian ways. This country is not good for people like Gandhi. May be Flower campaign got noticed and created a whole new experience for the USCIS, but i dont think it really helped them do anything in our favor. Already, folks here are wasting their money, year after year, on their EADs and APs for them and their family. Just think for a second guys, It costs us 1000 $ to maintain status on AOS and visit our family and this is going on indefinitely for our years now. USCIS/Congress does not want to do anything about this, They are happy to get the revenue. Even if you think a minimum of 200,000 people spending 1000 $ an year, it is 200,000,000 $. Iam not even considering the amount they spent on other things like H1B extension, H4s..... Just think about the Dollars they are making on this Green Card SCAM. Accept it or not, it is indirectly affecting our lives, even though, GC is not really important for lot of folks. Iam one such person, I have a good client and a decent employer and iam with the same folks for 9 years and they are happy extending my H1b at their cost. But still, this whole GC game, is sometimes disturbing. They are playing with our emotions and our loved ones. So, GUYS we need to take a bigger and bolder step. To me, Calling people, sending flowers and letters explaining the situation makes no sense. Do you think, those guys dont really know about our situation. Let us a make a bold move. We are 70,000 folks just here in ImmigrationVoice. Let us compile a letter,that pushes USCIS/Congress on improving the condition. As long as they get those EXTRA Dollars, i dont think anything is going to happen. Even if they remove the provision to apply for GC while on H1B, it is good for us, for we will know that in advance and can plan on shaping our future better, instead of this false promise and emotional torture. I think even AILA or other Lawyers are useless. They dont want to do anything for us. All they do is, interpret the LAW , and explain us in the way we can understand. They dont take steps to fight for the justice. All they care is the money. So let us make our point clear to USCIS, we dont want to waste money on EADs and APs and H1B extensions. To me, it should be free of cost, since it is their problem that they dont work efficiently. Why should we pay 1000s of dollars for their inefficiency. let us all 70,000 work together in sending a letter to USCIS or Congress that We are not willing to spend any more money on the GC knowing that we are not going to get it anyway. "For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. I understand that the Senator is a champion for creating more jobs in America. Employment based green cards will create jobs in America. I want to start my own company and hire people in America. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.
I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration bill
giving more weight to green cards and creating jobs in America, or maybe the Senator could lead the effort for improving the proposal"

Congratulations!
I never had a problem with my immigration status in regards to getting a home loan. In fact, I got approval from 3 banks and I chose the one with lowest interest.
U got lucky as they didnt ask the Immigration status.
For me also they didnt ask me until they are about to approve the loan.
Gave me a scare, but finally all worked out

Anyway, it's taking four months as of now. People who filed in Feb, getting approvals in June. So,if we had filed in May then, it's Sep approval.

Not true. Anybody donates will get Donor status. This is started for last few days, so people who donated in last few days get this. Pappu mentioned that he is planning to cross reference this with old donations but not sure whats happening there.

I was dealing with GMAC Bank, But I know friends who used Wells Fargo & BAC with the status of AOS pending.
these People generally get nervous when they see a pending status, Approved I-140 will definitely help.
