I am with you Almond. After waiting for 12 long years in USA and 8 long years for a GC, the tunnel is still dark.
Same here. Been in the States since 1998. They should give honorary GCs just for completing 10 legal years of being in this country. :mad:

We are fighting against anti-immigrant idiots like you.
Greencard is our right because we have been waiting long enough and paid a lot for it, and we will not just take greencard but also get our citizenship. After getting citizenship we will make our pro-immigrant senators win election and help defeat anti-immigrant Senators. We will contribute money in getting pro-immigrant lawmakers get elected. Try your best to find a job. The market is picking up. At least try to join one of those desi companies even if they are offering a low salary. Just get past this time without making your situation a whole lot more complex.
Dont worry about lawyers, your ex employer revoking I140 - all that stuff doesn't matter now - just go find a job.
I am not sure if I should be happy or sad with this news. I was laidoff recently and had applied for I-485 on July 17,2007 i.e. current processing date for TSC. Also with this bulletin I will be current (EB2 2006). I have not found a new job yet and my company has told me that they will be revoking my I-140 after 30 days. My company lawyers are not advising me much citing conflict of interest.
What options do I have? Will sending a new G-28 form at this time raise any issues that I do not have job with original employer as my PD is current and it is quite possible that my case maybe adjudicated. In the meantime if I do not sent new G-28 form I am not sure how much my company attorney will co-operate

Thanks sy. I fully agree it's the agent we deal with. My BOA loan coordinator is extremely stubborn & doesn't have any clue regarding immigration. From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. USINPAC is not interested in Legal immigrants or anything to do with greencard issues, guys they have already got their's. They are more interested in faimily reunification and GC's for their relatives.
I am not sure even democrats are with us in legal immigration. They are just trying to bundle this with illegal immigration issues and using it to negotiate with more business oriented republicans. I think IV should work more closely with republicans to decouple these two issues. I think its common misconception spread by American Indians (USINPAC) that democrats are pro-immigration.

I'm looking for homeloan options in India. Which bank would be good to apply for home loans.
Was thinking about ICICI bank but got scared after going through the other thread about how ICICI bank is into stealing.
I would appreciate it if anyone can give me few suggestions on this.

As many members posted, avoid ICICI. When you apply for loan, they will come to you and lick your feet and will do all sorts of promise about services. But after you take loan, you won't find same level of service.
But whatever bank you decide to go with, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. It is not safe at all in their hand. Some banks requires SSN and some don't. ICICI requires SSN and credit report authorization. Negotiate with them. We negotiated with them and refused to give them social security number. We generated credit report ourselves and crossed out SSN and all account numbers from it properly. We did the same thing with other documents ie paystubs etc.
We have two home loans one with ICICI and another with SBI. We have better experience with SBI. My parents are power of attorney holder and they mostly deal with bank and according to them SBI is much better then ICICI do deal with locally. We have now decided to prepay our loan with ICICI in next 6 months in full.

The people America would really be concerned about are outstanding researchers, but then these people fall in the EB1 category which is always current and so they have no cause for complaint. The other category that the US is concerned about is cheap and illegal labor, but that is not related to GCs. So in short, there is nothing about the Eb2/Eb3 GC backlog that America needs to worry about.

For every one person returning to their homeland, America is loosing 10 jobs to other countries.
You can cite some of the international CEO names, who returned from US and made fotune in their native land. Also, how the companies setup by them can take the US jobs.

My PD is Dec. 04, and my I-485 was filed during the july fiasco in 2007. My PD was current since March 08 until it will become "unavailable" in June 08.
My attorney got update from Nebraska SC in May stating "Your case is in queue for green card." Now what will happen to my case since EB-3 ROW will be unavailable in June? Does that mean an IO once opened my file after March and will close it without processing any further because of the change in the June Visa Bulletin?
I am confused. Please share your insights and experiences.

He is saying what is the truth. Do you believe that Indian universities are as good as American? If so, why do we come here?
Simple answer is jobs in the US pay better than jobs in India, therefore people come here for the economic opportunity.
As far as Wadhwa's statements disparaging the quality of Indian education go, he is looking after his interests. He runs an engineering program at Duke and needs to keep students interested in enrolling. How many students will keep enrolling once they find out they are being royally fleeced by American universities and that they could go to India and get a equivalent or better degree for a fraction of the price?

The greatness of USCIS is unbelievable!!!!!
When the dates move ahead, to say 2006, the 485s that get approved the most are for people whose PDs are in 2006. The 2004-2005 folks just have to keep starring!!! Then all of a sudden dates fall back to 2003...now only god knows who is yet to be approved in EB2-India before April 2003.
So what it seems like is when the dates move ahead drastically all the people who most recently applied will get approved and for the people who are stuck in backlog will see approvals only if the dates stick around their dates for atleast over a year....until then USCIS doesn't even realize that oh these people are still in queue and we need to approve them!!!
Such a BS to deal with all because of USCIS' GRACE!!!!

Why is everybody so freaking out? arent they going to release new visas for FY 2009 in October? My assumption is November's bulletin will take care of the cut off dates based on those visa numbers.

I am a PT on an H1B visa working for the last 3 years. I have a pending I-140 (PD March 07). My husband and I shall be filing our I-485's soon. My visa screen is valid till Nov 2009. At the rate things are moving dont think my PD will be current for a while. Does that mean I have to renew my visa screen in 2009? Not sure if it had to be present at time of filing I-485 or at time of receiving a visa number.
I thought the visa screen should be submitted with your i-485 application. Secondly, as far as your visa screen is submitted b4 the expiration date, it should be ok.

EB2 India and EB2 China will have same cut off dates. I recall reading the USCIS explanation (in one of those AILA - USCIS conference) regarding distribution of unused EB2 ROW numbers and they mentioned that they have to keep EB2 I-C same till those catagories become current.
